Residential Lease Agreement Requirements

Must include:

• Name of Landlord (property owner) and tenant(s)
• Contract dates:  move in/out (example: 01/01/16- 12/31/16)
• Address being rented
• Two clauses are required:
  • The tenant must have water and sewer through the District. Failure to have water and sewer is a public health issue, which would constitute a violation of the lease, and be grounds for eviction.
  • Tenant may not sublet to anyone else and should list who is residing at the address.
    • If a husband and wife are both on the lease, then both names should be listed on the customer account.
    • Signatures are required of both landlord and tenants.

*If the lease is sent by fax, the landlord must fax his/her ID

ID Requirements

Any of the following are acceptable and must be valid:

• Driver's license or ID card issued by a State or outlying possession of the United States
• U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport Card
• U.S. Department of Justice Permanent Resident Card
• Foreign Passport
• Matrícula Consular Card issued by the Mexican Government
